Beware of Spammers (antivirus sellers etc)

Hi there,
I just received a PM from a member saying that she had received the following antivirus spam as a PM:-

As you can see, this message was sent by someone called LadyRoot and she claims to be from Forum Administration www.bodyodorsupport.com!!!

As you can imagine, this message is merely SPAM. My name certainly isn't LadyRoot!! This person is obviously trying to direct you to a rogue link http://antivirus.. so don't click on it!!

Infact guys, be sure never to click on any links you are uncertain about! I think you can see that what I am telling you is just common sense.

Re: Beware of Spammers (antivirus sellers etc)

Zusu,
It is a scam from people who make antivirus software. They try to infect you with 9 viruses if you click that link and then try to convince you you have 300 viruses on your hard drive and that they can remove these if you buy an antivirus subcription through them!! Guys, it is DANGEROUS to click on a link from someone you don't know! If you don't do that you will be OKAY.

My suggestion is to see if your own antivirus removes these 9 viruses. If not, you may need to reformat your hard drive (kills all viruses). Sorry! I think there should be an internet police who stops this sort of thing and investigates these people and imprisons them. But unfortunately, as yet this is not the case.

I have come across many of these sort of links in my mail spam folder but I never click on them. I just delete the messages.

I did BAN that silly person from our site but you know how easy it is to change your ID and register as a new member. What can I do? Should we Moderate every message on this site? This would be such a shame just because of 1 stupid spammer (trouble maker)

Re: Beware of Spammers (antivirus sellers etc)

My computer has a firefox update, it has avira antivirus update and malwarebytes so those spammers are piece of cake for me since in the past I have learn my mistakes so now im invisible hahahaha. This kind of spammers launch a rogue spyware or a rogue antivirus so be careful next time. Update your browser all browsers like opera, maxthon, internet explorer, safari etc. But if you have linux these virus are nothing

Re: Beware of Spammers (antivirus sellers etc)

Hi guys,
I have terminated StopAdmin and ForumAdmin's membership. If any of you receive any more spam on this site please post the details here or email me.

I would never send you messages to tell you you have a virus on your computer and you should use some silly antivirus product. Neither would any of the other Administrators.

Please NEVER click on any links you are uncertain about!
Arun

Re: Beware of Spammers (antivirus sellers etc)

I know some of you have been getting PMs saying it's from the administrators. It is not. Please don't click on the links, and just simply delete the message so that it won't affect your computer.
