No, it's a hoax. Just ignore it, it was sent by someone pretending to be the administrator!

Re: Hi Marie I need you again

Yes, please delete it. It's most certainly a virus. My computer shut itself down as soon as I got the message. Do not click on anything in that message, just delete it.

Let's see what Arun says about it.

Re: Hi Marie I need you again

Hi guys,
Yes, unfortunately we have a pest on this site. He sends people a link to a virus in the hope that we will purchase his antivirus software! If you click on the link, you are asking for trouble.
I would not send you such a link and neither would any of the other Administrators or Moderators on this site.

We are asking you to exercise the same caution as you would when opening mail in your email account. Everyone gets this sort of thing in their Spam folder but they just delete it. Nobody opens their spam messages and clicks on the links. Well guys, don't click on any strange links posted on this site either!

The PM look as if it has come from Admin but it hasn't!

I am in 2 minds about what to do about the situation. If I ban all PMs, everyone suffers! Let us see if this twit goes away by himself. Otherwise I will need to explore all options. What do you guys think I should do?
Arun

Re: Hi Marie I need you again

Arun,

I think that we've announced the warning to not open any links like that, and that you and I would only address each person by name individually, or give a generalized message without directing them to do anything like that. I think people should understand. I would hate to lose the opportunity to PM each other. I think it'll be OK. Arun, perhaps you might want to put a sticky post about it so that it shows up in the home page? Just my ideas and suggestion.

Re: Hi Marie I need you again

Hmmm, yes I like the idea of a sticky note on the top of the Home page for this. Great idea Maria. By the way, I have changed the layout of the site around a bit. We now have the last 50 updated threads visible on the Homepage instead of the last 30. Also, I have put 4 random videos on the right of every page and 6 random pictures on the left. Hope you like the layout guys.
Arun

Re: Hi Marie I need you again

The newest member Trearocox is obviously a spammer. I used a SPAM detector online to analyze the page in his profile and its naturalness value turned out to be only 33.50% meaning it's a spam site. Also, the url address looks like that of a spam page. Not to mention the awkwardness of his profile.

There are other profiles here (of some of the later "members") that also look very awkward. I'll list as many as I can for you soon if you're interested in my help.

By the way, does this forum ask newly registered members to activate their accounts before they are able to login and such?

Nevermind. Looks like they got removed.

Edit: Watch out for Mardor, too.

Re: Hi Marie I need you again

Arun,

I LOVE the change. It makes the site so much more cozier! Thanks for doing that.

Manny, thanks so much for helping us detect scanner!!! It's wonderful that you do that for us. I'm certain that would help Arun moderate (ban) them.

Have a great day everyone.
