Hello everyoneO(∩_∩)O

Hello everybody
I’m a girl from China.I’ve registered for sometime ,but my English is not very good.hope I can communicate with you all.
I have suffered form body odor for 7 years, when I was in junior high school. I have b
romhidrosis, like barbecue, so I applyed some liquid medicine.but it didn’t work though I toke more and more ,so I operated on my armpit to resect my large sudoriferous gland when I
Was 17.Then ,I really did’t smell any more from my armpit, however ,the strangers around me coughed louder than before, just like they suffered from pneumonia. I couldn’t work out what happenen and I myself could not smell anything abnormal after my operation. This has happened until now ,I barely go out if I have nothing important ,I am very miserable and I have suspended my university for one year .i once let my mother and three patients like me smell my body ,they said I ‘m a normal person,so I am very confused now ,I want to know if I have fish-odor.
If I have suffer from Trimethylaminuria. Some one could cough very loudly 10 meters from me. I am still a student ,but I am very worried about everything thar will happen in the future. I have read your articles for a long time, Every time I read them by my translator.i want to know somebody like,we help each other.

Hi Susan,

My name is Hon,
and i'm Malaysian,
I think your english is not bad,
I suggest is better to get used yourself using english in this forum,
We had created chinese board here,
but since we changed from BB to V-bulletin,
all those chinese words became 'sausages' letters,
I will try to correct it back again when i'm free,
but all those translation that i needed to do, just made everything difficult & 'double' work.
Using english is much more easier,
but i will still assist members that not so good in english and needed chinese translation.
I think you doing pretty well with english

Welcome to our big family, Susan.
tell us more about you.
Do you search for Doctor advise regarding you suspected yourself have fish Odor sysdrome??

Hon

Re: Hello everyoneO(∩_∩)O

Hello Hon.
I will try my best to read your words
In my country there is not still any group or hospital researching persons have fish ordor like me,perhaps the propotion of the country is low, also because the custom and culture ,so some patients are able to suffer from Trimethylaminuria are shy to search for
Doctors ,and also we know there is no professional doctors that can cure us.
Now if someone suffer from bromhidrosis, many of us apply some liquid medicine bought from drugsrore or internet ,so that the ordor can be concealed unless our body odor is too strong,we go to hospital and the doctor resect our large sudoriferous gland
But I really can not understand why the strangers cough so loudly when I go out ,because I don’t smell anything from my body since I have my operation.

Re: Hello everyoneO(∩_∩)O

Hi Susan,
These strong odour conditions are mostly under-researched. Some people talk about the one rare condition (Trimethylaminuria) which has been researched and unfortunately everyone thinks they have it until they get tested and find they test negative for it.

There are probably several (at least 5) enzyme disorders like TMAU that have yet to be discovered. This research will happen soon. It could not happen before as the research equipment for analysing odours was not sufficiently sensitive. Also internet patient groups like this have never existed before, the oldest such group is not more than 10 years old.

Hon also told me he had a sort of barbecue smell before his operation. I think his operation was very successful, perhaps you can PM him and ask him more about what type of surgery he had.

Some members on this site (like me) also produce allergens that make others cough or have runny nose etc. But this does not necessarily mean you still have an odour. Has anyone told you or passed comment recently that you have a strong odour? Perhaps you are free of odour now but still producing allergens?
Arun

Re: Hello everyoneO(∩_∩)O

thank you for your advice
but i think i really have a kind of odor ,now i cannot work out how does it smell
through others’reaction i can know this truth ,i am not sensitive unless others have a very loud and
intense cough when they are around me,and i can see them cough and spit everyday when i am on buses or in the undergound railways.

Susan,
Do you have a friend you can confide in to ask what it smells like and how bad it is? What about a brother or sister? Can they help you? When you have someone to give you this feedback daily then you will be in a better position to know what products or diet helps.

Hi Susan,

If you're only judging that you're smelling due to people coughing and spitting, then you might be misinterpreting when people have a cold or flu or upper respiratory infection, or even environmental allergies and not to you. It's like Arun says, "this does not necessarily mean you still have an odour." Were you aboue to find someone at the university to give you feedback?
