Too bad everyone doesn't understand me

Everyone in my home doesn't understand me, my sister my father and my neighbors. This night in my home have a celebration like a tradition, I am target of ther gossiping, whenever they say "Hey is that your brother why he isn't working- he finishes college, What if your haven't no father already no one will supported you or what happen if your sister will marry." I have been paranoid in the past, the heart doesn't heal so completely so I stay home waiting for answers, experimenting on anything to stop my hyperdrosis and smelly stuff. I made a confession to my father last week that I have a tmau and he says, "Oh really the smell would stop for excercise and bath everday". My relatives keep saying that their sons don't finish college and have work already but why I'm not, so I keep thinking they are very lucky that they havent smell douchebags. Its a tinking bomb that I'm 27 and still don't work. One teachers say to may face directly that I have no life no future and a smelly person right in front on my face. I keep praying one day that I have strength everyday to face my fears and someday to get work, I hope my luck will come.

Hey dude,
My advise is to only apply for jobs where you will not feel terribly anxious. Try applying for jobs where you will work with one other person rather than a room of people (open-plan office). This can make the difference between happiness at work or quiting.

Re: Too bad everyone doesn't understand me

Not being understood is a normal complaint in human communication/relationships. I live with my family too and have gotten very similar comments about being useless. Would you say it's something of a double bind situation, where if you decide to quarantine your smell off by being alone, you'll be branded as anti-social. Then if you put yourself out there, you'll just be hated for being inconsiderately smelly.

It does take a huge effort, both mental and emotional to step outside the self-confining nature of the situation, and I really hope you can find your inner strength the same.

You phrased everything nicely Vradiqa, this is exactly the situation I am facing too.

It really annoys me when people who do not have BO can face everyday so easily and effortlessly. Like working in an office full of people, they can just sit down and concentrate on their work, whereas we have to worry about how people might react to us, and the reactions (coughing, clearing of throat loudly, etc etc).

It seems that Chinese New Year is approaching too, I hate it because it's another sociable family gathering.
I detest it because my cousins would start talking and showing off about how sociable they are "ooo did you see the pictures of blah blah blah in my facebook...", "I watch this movie with my group of friends, did you watch it too..." or they would start doing their mass SMS-ing thingy on the phone(to show off they have friends to sms to).

Re: Too bad everyone doesn't understand me

I think people deserve their good days too, they should be happy to spend from it, even to show off. Hmph, it's a real blessing to be normal.

What do you usually do during CNY? For me, during Hari Raya, I just do the minimal polite interactions and indulge in the food a lil, then sneak out already to wait till its over.

Although I dislike being social, it's hard for me to say I hate these family gatherings, because if anything bad happens to one of us, it is during these gatherings where we'll be seeing the last of each other, and I'll miss them definitely. I still remember the good memories, before the b.o struck.

I do often wonder about this myself. .. The Internet has lots of opportunity's and if you can't find job working at home then start business online or if that is impossible then learn computer science, web developing , web design. Is one sure way to get regular good income and not having to worry about other people ,, other jobs In the past i have done are delivery/night jobs which i found least stessfull/comments.
